Capture the Dutch market at Roadshow South Africa in the Netherlands
Our roadshow is all about the new and inspiring products and experiences our South African partners can introduce to the Dutch trade. This is the perfect opportunity to pick the low-hanging fruit and improve consumer conversion. – Bangu Masisi, SAT country manager: the Netherlands
South African Tourism: Netherlands is hosting its third edition of Roadshow South Africa in the Netherlands from 27 to 31 October 2014.
The roadshow will introduce the South African travel trade to the Dutch travel industry, empowering them with insights into Dutch consumers and their travel needs.
This year South African Tourism is looking to showcase fresh and inspiring South African products to Dutch travel agents that they can use to convince their clients to book a trip to South Africa.
The Netherlands is South Africa’s fifth-largest European market, with 47% of Dutch tourists visiting South Africa being repeat travellers.
Last year’s roadshow attracted 350 Dutch travel agents and 20 tour operators.
Bangu Masisi, South African Tourism country manager for the Netherlands, says rather than having huge numbers, South African Tourism is more interested in attracting quality Dutch travel agents and tour operators, preferring to concentrate on a target audience that yields results.
With Roadshow South Africa held the week before WTM in London (which takes place from 3 to 6 November 2014), the South African trade can attend both events on one trip.
This year’s roadshow, which will take the form of speed-marketing sessions, can accommodate 25 South African product owners, who will travel to five cities in the Netherlands.
Product owners will also have an opportunity to schedule meetings with product managers and CEOs of tour operating companies and other stakeholders, in between travelling and setting up their stands at the various destinations.
'Our roadshow is all about the new and inspiring products and experiences our South African partners can introduce to the Dutch trade. This is the perfect opportunity to pick the low-hanging fruit and improve consumer conversion,' says Masisi.
The roadshow dates are as follows:
- Amsterdam, 27 October 2014: During this session, the South African trade will enjoy a welcome lunch and presentation on the Dutch market in which consumer insights on what Dutch travellers are looking for in travel experiences – especially repeat travellers – will be shared. There will also be a speed-marketing session in the evening
- Rotterdam, 28 October 2014: Speed marketing with Dutch travel agents
- Eindhoven, 29 October 2014: Speed marketing with Dutch travel agents
- Arnhem, 30 October 2014: Speed marketing with Dutch travel agents
- Amersfoort, 31 October 2014: Speed marketing with Dutch tour operators
The participation fee for one South African product representative is €900, with the fee for an additional representative also costing €900.
The fee includes five nights’ B&B single-room accommodation; a welcome lunch; dinner during roadshow days; transport between venues during roadshow days; and drop-off at Schipol Amsterdam Airport on 1 November 2014.
South African trade interested in joining the roadshow should contact South African Tourism marketing assistant Marco Jonk at firstname.lastname@example.org. The closing date for registration is 5 August 2014.
