INDABA 2013 promises to be a crucial networking platform for the South African tourism trade and a major attraction for local and international visitors and hosted local and international buyers.
The show is geared toward giving visiting buyers easy access to a wide selection of Southern Africa’s tourism products and offers tangible opportunities for business growth.
To date 217 hosted buyers, 479 exhibitors and 149 sharing exhibitors have confirmed their attendance at INDABA 2013. Exhibitors include accommodation establishments, tour operators, game lodges, transport operators, online travel companies, media publications, camping and safari operators, as well as provincial tourism authorities and products.
There are also a host of interesting workshops, debates, presentations, educational seminars and events taking place at INDABA 2013 that provide opportunities for delegates to learn more about Southern Africa’s tourism landscape – the trends, opportunities and the challenges. Among these are the popular Shongologo Speed Marketing Sessions, which were first introduced at INDABA in 2012.
Speed Marketing is a marketing platform for South African tourism products to present their tourism business to international hosted buyers. Much like speed dating, products have just a few minutes to sell their product to buyers. This year, there will be three Shongololo Speed Marketing sessions: South African National Parks (SANParks) on 11 May 2013; Heritage and Culture on 12 May 2013; and Wine Routes of South Africa on 13 May 2013. All Speed Marketing sessions will take place in ICC Room 22.
For the past two years, INDABA has been voted Africa’s best travel and tourism show by the World Travel Awards. Attendance figures show that 10 793 delegates attended INDABA 2012. INDABA is owned by South African Tourism and organised by Witch & Wizard Creative.
