Tings n' Times, Pretoria The Interior of Tings an' Times in Pretoria.

Tings an' Times Pretoria is a live music venue with a difference situated in the heart of the student enclave of Hatfield. Featuring Afro-Jamaican décor and portraits of reggae music icon Bob Marley, and an easy-going Rastafarian vibe, Tings an’ Times, describes itself as a “100% attitude-free zone”.

Located near the University of Pretoria, Tings an’ Times has a laidback student vibe, and as a premiere live music venue in Pretoria, it hosts has some of the best parties in town.

At this Pretoria live music venue, expect live music performances 3 nights a week, on weekday nights, while weekends usually see DJs performing during themed parties.

Musically speaking, their focus is on new and original acts, usually with an alternative slant, although you can also expect to see a few local heavyweights from the pop, rock and reggae genres too. Being Jamaican-themed, DJs tend to focus on playing reggae and dub, though the venue's eclecticism allows for much, much more.

Don't let the Jamaican theme and laidback atmosphere fool you into thinking that it is some kind of down-at-heel student venue. The food really is superb - a bit out of the ordinary and cheap. A well-stocked bar and excellent sound system means that the vibes are good and quality high.

Tings an’ Times have a no-under-21's policy and there is plenty of safe parking outside the venue.  The controlled door policy also means that while a good party is always on, it's never out of control. Moreover, the bartenders and staff are amongst the friendliest - and funkiest - you will meet.
