Situated in the Buzz Centre in Johannesburg's Fourways suburb, Tanz Café has a well-deserved reputation, having been voted the city's favourite live music venue 3 times in a row. Its gig guide features the country's best musical talent, having hosted, amongst others, Jesse Clegg, Arno Carstens, Locnville, Freshlyground, Prime Circle, Evolver, Yoav, Civil Twilight and many other artists and bands.

The venue also keeps its line-up fresh by featuring lesser-known bands, giving young artists a fantastic introduction to Johannesburg’s live music scene.

This live music venue also mixes things up genre-wise, keeping audiences happy with line-ups that include rock, blues, folk, jazz and everything in between.

The stage is 10x4m in size, big enough for elaborate band set-ups, and features an impressive array of amps, speakers and mixers, including a superb Midas Venice 240 mixing console.

The venue can accommodate approx. 150 people in its restaurant section, with space for another 150 in the bar and other areas, including a mezzanine section that has been built along one side of the room, with great views of the stage. They also cater to private functions in their 60-seater private lounge and dining area.

Along with great live music, Tanz Café also serves up a delicious menu; in addition to a la carte fare, they offer set, buffet and snack menus. They have an extensive wine and cocktail list too.
