Did you know?
Randlords is situated near the Nelson Mandela Bridge which links Braamfontein to the city centre.
If you're looking for an exclusive venue for that private party, product launch or corporate function, then look no further than Randlords.
Many moons ago, before Randlords existed, the 22nd floor of the tall tower in Johannesburg's Braamfontein suburb, adjacent to the University of the Witwatersrand, was a revolving restaurant frequented by the fat cats of the 70s and 80s. But society underwent cataclysmic changes and the restaurant fell on hard times.
Another chapter in its life opened, however, when Wits University purchased the building and housed their distinguished Department of Drama and Film there.
The chatter of young students gave the building new life and the restaurant again opened its doors – not as a glitzy restaurant but as a staff canteen where professors, researchers and other ivory tower denizens came to eat lunch and gaze at the stupendous views.
Fast forward to today. New owners and new ideas have transformed Randlords into an exclusive party and function venue. Now floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall glass cocoon you in a gleaming bubble boasting 360º views stretching from the iconic Soccer City stadium in Soweto to the Sandton skyline.
On a clear day you can practically see forever, but Randlords really comes alive at night when city lights glitter in the distance. If it rains, a large Bedouin tent will keep you dry on the outside decks of the 23rd floor, above the cocktail bar and lounge on the floor below.
Whether it's a birthday party for 100 people, a cocktail party for 500, or a product launch for 700, at Randlords expect fine wines, distinctive food, great music to suit your mood, ample off-street parking and state-of-the-art cocktails. It's a great excuse for a party.
