Life Day Spa Cape Town at the African Pride Crystal Towers Hotel & Spa is luxurious, with no expense spared. Yet treatments, some of which are unique to the spa, remain affordable. Perhaps its most standout feature is a suspended swimming pool with views of the iconic Table Mountain.

Did you know?

The Life Day Spa Cape Town was voted the ‘Best Hotel Spa In South Africa’ in July 2011 and came 2nd in the World Spa Awards in March 2012.

Life Day Spa Cape Town, part of the Life Day Spa group that began in Johannesburg, is situated at the African Pride Crystal Towers Hotel & Spa, located in Century City, a mixed-use development near Cape Town’s suburb of Milnerton.

The complex includes the vast Canal Walk shopping centre and the Ratanga Junction theme park.

Life Day Spa Cape Town operates in an environment that the company describes as 'earthy yet chic'. Its strength is its highly trained therapists, who undergo an intensive six weeks of product training before taking on clients.

Carefully selected product lines include La Prairie, Dermalogica and Skin Doctors. The Life Day Spa group has also developed its own range of aromatherapy-based, paraben-free products called Sulis, and it is this range that forms the basis of its signature wraps, scrubs and massages.

The spa, with views of Table Mountain, has a number of facilities that any client can make use of, irrespective of the treatment booked. There is a steam room, a sauna room, and a heated outdoor swimming pool impressively suspended above the ground with a viewing wall of glass.

At the poolside you’ll find a cocktail and nourishment bar. Relaxation stations, furnished with sofas and ottomans, dot the outdoor and indoor areas.

Other facilities include a floatation room (30 minutes in this highly salted water is said to be as beneficial as seven hours of undisturbed sleep), the Rasul Chamber for a 'Middle Eastern Mud Ritual', and couples' suites with indoor spa baths.

The spa’s extensive massage menu includes an hour-long soy candle massage, which utilises the moisturising molten wax of a candle made of soya bean oil. Therapists are also versed in the lomi-lomi massage method, a Hawaiian technique that stimulates circulation.

The Sulis Relax Massage uses 'aided stretching' and aromatherapy infusions to instil a feeling of well-being.

Some treatments are unique to Life Day Spas, such as the Sulis Relax Ritual, which rids the body of muscular pain and stiffness by using unique stretching movements.
