Inverdoorn Game Reserve and Safari Lodge in the Western Cape is a five-star establishment boasting Africa’s Big Five. An easy drive from Cape Town, Inverdoorn offers an excellent opportunity to discover and interact with wildlife while living in luxury at the same time.

Did you know?

The land on which Inverdoorn Game Reserve is based was once regarded as the largest fruit farm in the southern hemisphere.

The Cape Cheetah Conservation is based at Inverdoorn Game Reserve & Safari Lodge, so seize the opportunity to get up close to these endangered cats.

Game drives at this reserve usually last around three hours and offer opportunities to see lion, rhino, elephant, buffalo and the elusive leopard. In addition to the Big Five, animals you may see include giraffe, zebra, hippos, meerkat, and antelope such as kudu, eland and gemsbok. Game drives are offered to guests as well as day visitors − and private game drives are also an option.

The reserve is 10 000ha in size. With vast open plains the 1 200 or so animals that live within its boundaries are generally easy to find. There are numerous viewing points close to watering holes, where you can relax and watch the wild animals enjoy a drink, while you do the same.

Inverdoorn Game Reserve and Safari Lodge is situated in the area known as the Klein Karoo (Little Karoo), a fertile region surrounded by the Outeniqua mountains. There is a spectacular variety of vegetation in these parts, with a splendid array of colours on display in the spring months after the winter rains.

The establishment has received some excellent reviews on popular travel website, TripAdvisor. Check them out for yourself.

Inverdoorn also has a volunteer program. If you'd like to spend a few months working with cheetahs you can submit an application through the establishment’s website.
