Find inner calm at the Freesia Spa at the Hyatt Regency Oubaai Golf Resort & Spa. The design of its world-class spa facilities are inspired by the beauty of the Garden Route, and include seven luxury spa suites, each with its own steam room, shower and dressing area.

Did you know?

There are 14 species of freesia and 12 are native to the Cape.

The Freesia Spa at the Hyatt Regency Oubaai Golf Resort & Spa forms part of the worldwide collection of custom-designed Hyatt Spas, which offer an 'authentic and intimate' pampering experience.

Through an approach that combines the essential elements of the Garden Route (plants, water and light) with luxury products made from African ingredients, the Freesia Spa creates a soothing space in which to relax and unwind.

The architecture of the spa cleverly frames views of the Outeniqua Mountains, and each of the treatment rooms features a gentle palette with luxury finishes that are enhanced by natural light. Facilities include a tranquillity lounge, pool, jacuzzi and fitness centre.

The treatments, therapies and products used at Freesia Spa incorporate elements of light and water, in combination with products inspired by the Earth. Indigenous oils such as marula, baobab and rooiboos nourish the body, while techniques that draw on traditional African remedies are used.

One of Freesia Spa’s signature treatments is a hydrating ‘vital light’ treatment. This four-hour session includes a full-body steam treatment, a geranium body polish, an illumination facial and an African rhythm wood massage, which uses mpingo wood implements that are hand-made using timber from the area.

These wooden implements are also used in other treatments at the spa that involve rhythmically massaging the face and body to promote wellness and renewal.

Guests can book individual treatments or packages. Individual treatments include a hot stone massage and a balancing massage, which uses avocado and shea butter nuggets that melt into the skin as they are applied.

One of the many packages to choose from is the Freesia Verdant Earth Retreat. It incorporates an aromatic body touch steam treatment, a marula and sandalwood sugar polish, a marula release massage, and a facial and eye treatment.

There is also a selection of spa treatment options specifically designed for couples.
