Honest, handmade health food

Crush Fresh Food Café and Juice Bar

Crush Fresh Food Café and Juice Bar prides itself on making honest food, by hand, just like mom used to make, using only the freshest ingredients from the best possible sources. Raw, gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian dishes and drinks are all available at this vibrant health-conscious eatery.

Fresh is best at Crush

Did you know?

All the bread on offer at Crush is made by Knead, one of Cape Town's best artisan bakeries.

Crush Fresh Food Café and Juice Bar in Cape Town has 2 major attractions. First it’s centrally located (minutes from Greenmarket Square) on the busy St Georges Mall. Second, the freshness of its produce and integrity of its dishes are what modern diners are craving. Their ideal is to serve busy city workers with quality food that will both energise and delight them at a price that is accessible. In keeping with the times Crush supports regional and eco-friendly produce and sustainable production methods.

Crush Café’s vegetarian menu features gluten-free, raw and vegan dishes, as well as power drinks that combine seasonal fruit and vegetables with natural pick-me-up ingredients, plus herbs and spices. They reason that a smoothie prepared from scratch is going to do someone in a hurry far more good than something fried and salty on bread. Their freshly made, hearty soups are a feature, particularly in winter.

Vegetarian dining at Crush walks that fine line between ‘good for you but boring’ and ‘decadent but best avoided’ with consummate skill. They get it just right. You can start your day with a satisfying muffin (gluten-free if you prefer) matched to a fortified fruit and yoghurt drink, come back for a serious salad with seed bread or falafel wrap at lunch, and take your 4 o’clock tea treat away with you. Even the coffee is organic.

If lunch without a glass of wine or a quality beer traumatises you, fear not, they have natural ciders, personally brewed beers and organic wines for sale. Bad day at the office? Have a soothing herbal tea and something chewy and indulgent, like their dark chocolate brownie. Careful sinners can always opt for the pecan nut and honey crunchy.
