On the doorstep of the Kruger National Park

Sefapane Lodge, Phalaborwa

Sefapane Lodge is a game lodge on the doorstep of the Kruger National Park, offering guided game drives, wonderful food and the chance to take a never-to-be-forgotten evening safari into South Africa's most famous wilderness area.

Did you know?

The name Sefapane means 'Southern Cross' in the local Sapedi language, referring to the iconic constellation in the southern hemisphere.

Sefapane Lodge is a short drive from the Kruger National Park’s Phalaborwa Gate and is a great base from which to explore this stunning wildlife area. Set in lovely shady gardens, with big trees and a welcoming swimming pool, Sefapane Lodge is a friendly spot that's been in the hospitality business for over 20 years.

Sefapane Lodge offers guided drives into the Kruger National Park in open safari vehicles. They offer morning, day and evening safaris as well as evening bush braais. Sefapane also does bush walks and mountain bike tours into the national park, and guided trips to the nearby Blyde River Canyon.

There is a small dam at Sefapane Lodge for keen fisherman and, for golfers, there's the nearby Hans Merensky Golf Course, adjacent to the Kruger National Park.

Visitors to Sefapane Lodge can either stay in their charming bush rondavels or in self-catering safari houses. The rondavels are tucked under trees in the garden while the safari houses overlook the small dam.

After a long day in the bush, head for the Misava Spa, a new addition to Sefapane Lodge. Named after the local Tsonga word for earth, the spa offers holistic body and beauty treatments using local plants and herbs. You can enjoy a relaxing treatment in the lovely spa building or outdoors in the garden.

Sefapane has a wonderful pool bar, a welcome break after the heat of the African bush. Enjoy a sundowner here, and then head for the Calabash Grill serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
