DW eleven-13 is situated in the suburb of Dunkeld West, Johannesburg. From the outside, the restaurant is pretty unassuming – but step inside and you will be entering one of the city's finest eateries. Chef and owner Marthinus Ferreira trained among some of the world's finest Michelin chefs, and the results are evident in his award-winning menu.

Did you know?

DW eleven-13 is one of the few Johannesburg restaurants to consistently feature in the top 10 of the Eat Out DSTV Food Network Restaurant Awards.

DW eleven-13 is a top-end Johannesburg restaurant regularly honoured among the country’s best – it is no stranger to top restaurant polls. The curious name of the restaurant is derived from its location at shops 11, 12 and 13 in the Dunkeld West Shopping Centre, and is also a tribute to the time that chef and owner Marthinus Ferreira spent in some of London's finest kitchens.

Ferreira has worked among Michelin-star chefs and in some of the top dining establishments in South Africa and the United Kingdom. He deems it a challenge to entice diners from their comfort zones to try new taste experiences, and continues to delight patrons, who return time again.

There’s nothing simple about the dishes on the constantly evolving menu, with each choice accompanied by a profusion of imaginatively combined ingredients. Your Alaskan king crab cocktail starter, for example, will include avocado purée, Marie Rose shredded cos lettuce, corn sorbet and lumpfish roe. You can expect your butter-roasted hake, one of the mains, to come with white-bean purée, asparagus, crispy Parma ham and beef vinaigrette.

Operating on the same premises is the Grazing Room, where Ferreira offers his interpretation of a Spanish tapas menu. Guests are welcome to 'graze through' a series of sharing plates, which change regularly. You may find Portuguese sardines, chorizo salad and polenta cubes on the menu; or broccoli soup, steak tartare and tomato toast.

DW eleven-13 boasts an incredible wine list too, with a decent selection available by the glass.

Note that menus are dictated by the season ... although it makes no difference when you visit this exquisite eatery – your taste buds will definitely thank you.
