South Africans pride themselves on their can-do attitude and will go out of their way to not only deliver an event that meets your specific needs, but one that will exceed your every expectation.

3Successful hosting of major world events

South Africa is an enthusiastic and well-respected sporting nation, so it’s no wonder we have successfully hosted the 2010 FIFA World Cup™, the Rugby World Cup, Cricket World Cup, World Cup of Athletics, World Cup of Golf and many more. Other major events hosted to perfection in South Africa include the World Summit on Sustainable Development with around 24,000 delegates, the World Economic Forum (two years in a row) and the 2010 SITE International Conference.

4World-class facilities & services

South Africa has world-class international convention centres, conference venues, meeting and incentive facilities and services. Hotels number nearly 2000 and there are more than 1700 conference centres nationwide. To assist you in making a choice, accommodation is graded by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa. Our events industry is well-established and your every need will be met with friendly, professional service.

5Any size, any budget

A wide variety of options exist to cater for conferences, events and incentives of all sizes and budgets. South Africa is as adept in hosting mega events of 10,000 delegates as in intimate corporate teambuilding activities for 10 colleagues. In 2002, we successfully hosted the World Summit on Sustainable Development, with about 24,000 delegates attending. You are guaranteed quality accommodation, and meeting venues and tours that fit your group and budget.

6Diverse, unforgettable experiences

South Africa offers a powerful combination of experiences – traditional cultures mixed with modern urban rhythms; eco-tourism in harmony with adrenalin-fused adventure; getting transported from our common human origins right through to cutting-edge scientific discoveries and technologies. The options are as endless as the starry night sky or the open grass plains. Let us ignite yoursenses and reward your group with unforgettable memories.

7Warm, welcoming people

There is no better experience of a country than through its people. In South Africa, we are blessed with some of the warmest, most welcoming people in the world – wide smiles, colourful faces and spontaneous dancing - brought to the world’s attention through the 2010 FIFA World Cup™. Visitors to our shores have plenty of stories to share of chance encounters that turned into lifelong friendships or that helped ease a particular challenge. Office cleaners will be equally happy to teach visitors a few words in any of our 11 official languages, as they will be to explain traditional and modern customs.

8Outstanding infrastructure & ease of access

The 2010 FIFA World Cup™ saw major upgrades to the country’s roads, its telecommunications and information technology infrastructure, as well as to its international airports, which rival the best in the world. One of the most exciting additions is the high-speed Gautrain, which transports visitors from Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport directly to Sandton, the heart of the country’s business hub. Three major international airports are located in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town and more than 40 international airlines fly to South Africa from around the world, many offering daily scheduled services. Numerous domestic airports and air services connect the country’s leading destinations and there is an extensive, modern road network, making it easy and affordable to access and experience a wide range of activities.
