Exotic lunar landscapes, unique flora and fauna and intriguing traditional cultures are just some of the fascinating characteristics that make up the Northern Cape province.

Home to the Kalahari Gemsbok National Park, Namakwaland, the Richtersveld Cultural and Botanical Landscape, the Augrabies Falls National Park, and Kimberley (South Africa’s diamond capital), many of the Northern Cape meeting activities offer unusual adventure opportunities.

Kimberley, home to the famous Big Hole and Kimberley Mine Museum, offers a variety of quality meeting venues. The nearby 5-star Dundi Lodge Augrabies Falls has conference facilities for 30 delegates. Fly-fishing, 4x4 drives, river rafting, game drives, mountain biking, bow hunting and scenic flights are some of the adventure activities on offer.

The Northern Cape’s unique biodiversity attracts worldwide attention and its national parks are some of the finest in southern Africa. These include the |Ais-|Ais/Richtersveld Transfrontier Park with its dramatic landscapes, and the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, with its compelling wilderness expanses. Here you'll find black-maned lions, pygmy falcons and abundant antelope. !Xaus Lodge in the park offers unforgettable experiences. If you’re in South Africa in September, a visit to Namakwaland to see the stunning display of wild flowers is a must. Springbok is home to the Namaqualand Museum, which is worth exploring.

And if stargazing is your interest then a conference or meeting in Sutherland is just the thing. The town is home to the Southern African Large Telescope (SALT) - the largest single optical telescope in the southern hemisphere. But remember to take warm clothing in winter. Sutherland is the coldest destination in South Africa.
