Limpopo, South Africa’s northern-most province, is best known for its rich tribal cultures and wild territories. It is home to the growing city of Polokwane, known as the 'Gateway to the Great North. How to get here

There are daily flights from Johannesburg to Polokwane International Airport as well as to the Kruger Park Gateway Airport at Palaborwa - located just 2km from the Kruger National Park's Palaborwa Gate.

Best time to visit

Limpopo province is a year-round destination although summers can get very hot.

Get around

Limpopo province has excellent road infrastructure and tourist sites are well signposted. Hiring a car is therefore an excellent way to explore the area and spot wild animals in the Kruger National Park.

Where to stay

In the Kruger National Park you can stay at a luxury bush lodge in a private concession. Many of these offer conferencing and team building facilities. South African National Parks also offers a variety of comfortable accommodation options at their rest camps.

What to eat

If you eat meat and are staying in a bush lodge, do try some of the game dishes on the menu. Also try biltong, a cured meat often made from buck or beef - its delicious.
