Action cricket, which is played indoors, is gaining in popularity around the world. And why wouldn’t it? Unlike the traditional version of the game, indoor cricket is not weather-dependent and you can play during the day or at night.

The 2011 Action Cricket World Cup was played in South Africa.

Action cricket in South Africa is attracting new players every week. Club, provincial and international action cricket tournaments now take place throughout the year. Despite this, it remains a very accessible social sport for both men and women.

Action cricket is generally played between two teams of eight players each, but works just as well with six or four players a side. In an eight-a-side game, teams bat for 16 overs each, with pairs of batters getting four overs each and bowlers getting two overs each. There is no limit to how many times a batter can be dismissed; five runs are deducted from the score for every dismissal.
