Refurbishment of Protea Hotel Kruger Gate almost complete

The final phase of renovations at the Protea Hotel Kruger Gate is underway and should be complete by 15 May 2013.

Our rooms have been designed to cater to the ever-growing South African family leisure market visiting the Kruger National Park, and for the many international travellers who have come to expect luxury when they visit game parks - Danny Bryer, Protea Hospitality Group Director of Sales, Marketing and Revenue.

The final 58 rooms of the 103-room Protea Hotel Kruger Gate - situated 100m from the Kruger National Park’s Kruger Gate in Mpumalanga - are receiving an elegant makeover with guest comfort being the major focus.

The rooms are being totally refurbished complete with extra-length bed sets, comfortable multi-purpose day beds that can double as children’s beds, and new insect-resistant window screens.

There will be no disruption to guests during the refurbishment as rooms are spread out across the hotel grounds and renovations are being done a block at a time.

Upon completion, the hotel will have 57 rooms with king or twin beds, eight inter-leading rooms, and 33 family rooms with two double beds among its offering.

Danny Bryer, Protea Hospitality Group Director of Sales, Marketing and Revenue, said the new facilities are very impressive.

“Our rooms have been designed to cater to the ever-growing South African family leisure market visiting the Kruger National Park, and for the many international travellers who have come to expect luxury when they visit game parks,” he said.

Several rooms, elevated walkways, the restaurant, outdoor dining area, and conference facilities, which cater for 220 delegates, have already been refurbished. Energy saving water and electricity devices have also been installed to reduce the property’s carbon footprint.
