Why Sell South Africa?

It is quite easy to sell South Africa as a holiday destination, and it also makes good business sense to do so.

Travel Motivation

Holiday remains the primary reason for travel by all tourists visiting South Africa. Half of these have visited two or three times before, and on average they spend 8 nights in the country.

A very high percentage of people who visit or intend visiting South Africa purchase their travel through travel agents. Our research has highlighted that they almost always do this through an agency and consultant who specialise in the destination.

Moreover, word-of-mouth is how most people get to know about South Africa. Family and friends not only recommend the destination, but also the agency and consultant that advised them. You should therefore know more about South Africa to build profitable client relationships.

Get in on the Act
The South African experience is so varied and extensive that it meets the expectations of even the most discerning tourists. This affords you the opportunity to sell a variety of breathtaking holidays and offer your clients a unique mix of new and exciting experiences all year round – which equates to a constant stream of income f
or you.

You can take advantage of the extensive marketing and advertising South African Tourism does globally to promote travel to South Africa! In addition to television campaigns, we do in-market activations and online marketing campaigns with the likes of Wayn.com; Expedia; TripAdvisor; National Geographic, etc. We also have presence on the social media networks and have launched a sexy new website at INDABA 2009 – go check it out to assist you with any additional queries and research needs you may have!

Our research states that 80% of the consumers visit travel agencies with a destination or region in mind. To ensure that consumers are driven to the travel trade, South African Tourism is marketing extensively to build awareness and interest, therefore ready yourself to close the deal by completing this FUNDI program and reap the rewards.

Satisfaction Guaranteed

  • South Africa scores extremely highly on visitor satisfaction indexes and is unique in its high number of repeat visits. South Africa's increasing status as a ‘destination of choice’ is reflected in the many accolades it has received over the years.

What is notable about South Africa is that, when travellers visit our shores, they often come back time and again. They also recommend the destination to friends and relatives. For you, the FUNDI specialist, this means that your services will be used over and over (and you will gain new clients through these recommendations).
