Vinotherapy comes to the Highveld

Kievits Kroon country lodge and conference estate outside Pretoria has recently gone the extra mile to ensure a home-grown experience for the guests to their lodge and spa. They recently launched a new range of vinotherapy-related room amenities. While vinotherapy is relatively old hat in the Cape winelands, it’s pretty new for this luxury lodge situated on the Highveld.

Managing Director of Kievits Kroon, Alan O’Leary says that the decision to introduce the vinotherapy range is part of a long-term brand strategy focused on positioning the country estate as the ‘winelands in Gauteng’. You certainly could fool yourself into thinking that Kievits Kroon is the Tshwane version of Constantia - with its gabled buildings, rolling lawns and fantastic restaurant (with a pretty good wine list, too).

The Capetonians got the idea of vinotherapy from the French, who have apparently been using wine in their beauty treatments for hundreds of years. With Gauteng province jumping on the bandwagon, hopefully a few more local spas and hotels will follow suit.

The Kievits Kroon range includes a hand and body lotion, body wash and conditioning shampoo all enhanced by the healing properties of wine and grapeseed oil. The new vinotherapy range is packed with antioxidants and promises to repair damaged skin, arrest inflammation and generally help you to look and feel good.

It’s certainly refreshing to note that a bit of winelands inspiration has hit Gauteng.
