South Africa vs Sri Lanka cricket series coming up

Sri Lanka’s cricket tour of South Africa begins with a 3 day match against South Africa A at Willowmore Park in Benoni on Friday December 9. Sri Lanka will then meet the Proteas for 3 Test matches and 5 One Day Internationals.

The test matches will take place at SuperSport Park Centurion (Pretoria), Sahara Stadium Kingsmead (Durban) and Sahara Park Newlands (Cape Town) in that order, with the first Test starting on December 15.

Tickets for matches in this series can be booked online through TicketPros or through PostNet stores. Tickets for the Test matches range from R20 to R140 and tickets to the One Day Internationals range from R50 to R240.

South Africa recently drew their 2 match Test series 1-1 with Australia, following a 2-1 loss in the One Day International series.

The man of the moment is Vernon Philander, who took 14 in the 2 Tests against Australia, which were also his first 2 Tests ever. Philander, Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel will be a handful for the Sri Lankan batsmen, who are used to much slower pitches.

Sri Lankans Kumar Sangakara and Mahela Jayawardene are two of the most accomplished batsmen in the game at present and will be key to their team’s success in South Africa.
