South Africa vs Australia at Newlands, Cape Town

The first Test between South Africa and South Africa takes place at Sahara Park Newlands in Cape Town from November 9 - 13. Tickets are available through TicketPros so make sure you book as soon as possible.

Prices range from R20 to R140, depending on your age and where in the ground you wish to sit.

Sahara Park Newlands is widely regarded as one of the most scenic cricket grounds in the world, with Table Mountain providing an excellent backdrop. The ground is located within the peaceful southern suburbs and if you are staying in Cape Town central, you can catch a train from Adderley Street to Newlands, leaving you a very short walk to the stadium.

The Newlands pitch generally offers an excellent contest between batsmen and bowlers and given that it’s only a 2-match series, both teams will be pushing extra hard for a win.

The southern suburbs is known for its nightlife offering, so if you want to continue the festivities after stumps are drawn, you can choose between pubs like Springboks, Forester’s Arms and Cubana, while Tiger Tiger nightclub will be open until the early hours of Saturday and Sunday morning during the match.

For more information about the cricket, phone Cricket South Africa on +27 (0)11 880 2810 and for travel tips and accommodation bookings, phone Cape Town Tourism on +27 (0)21 487 6800.
