Soccer action to resume at Cape Town Stadium

Soccer action returns to the Cape Town Stadium in February, after a break in fixtures during the first month of 2012. Local and international football fans will be making the most of the opportunity to watch the beautiful game at one of the world’s most beautiful stadiums.

Ajax Cape Town will host Platinum Stars in a Premier Soccer League clash at 7.30pm on Wednesday, February 15. Tickets for this match range from R40 to R80 and are available through Computicket.

Cape Town Stadium hosted eight matches during the 2010 FIFA World Cup, including the semi-final between Uruguay and the Netherlands. The stadium is located within easy walking distance of the Cape Town City Centre, as well as the V&A Waterfront and excellent nightlife venues in Sea Point and Green Point.

Ajax Cape Town is affiliated with Ajax Amsterdam and local fans love to welcome their international comrades, particularly those from the Netherlands, who created such a colourful atmosphere during the 2010 World Cup.

On Saturday, February 25, Ajax will resume their rivalry with Santos in what promises to be a delightful derby, so save the date if you’re going to be in Cape Town.

Cape Town Stadium is open for tours from Tuesday to Saturday, with tours starting at 10am, 12pm, and 2pm.
