Rest away

The word ‘Phumula’ means ‘rest’ in Zulu, and it’s a great name for a spa slapbang in the centre of Rosebank - one of the busiest urban precincts in Johannesburg. The spa is situated on the 6th floor of the Hyatt Regency and offers an oasis with a very definite African feel. The bamboo ceiling and African tapestries lead you on a path of no return (or so it feels). There are a number of retreat packages including the Jabula (a powerful stress relieving treatment); The Khucula massage - using Geranium and Pine Sugar Scrub - and the Cambalala treatment that combines an African wood massage with a hydrating facial and a relaxing body cream wrap. You could also be really indulgent and choose the Avocado and Shea Butter Nugget Massage… So take yourself away from the city for just an hour to two and enjoy the quiet happy space of the Phumula Spa and Health Club.
