Quad bike safari

For a safari with a difference, try game-spotting from a quad bike.

Put on your jeans, T-shirt and trainers, arm yourself with a camera, sunglasses, sunscreen and a warm jacket, and head off to Aquila Private Game Reserve, just outside Touws River in the Western Cape.

Don’t worry about the weather, it’s almost always dry.

After a welcome drink, mount your personal quad bike and away you go. Guided by two rangers you’ll buzz along for 2 hours through malaria-free, Big 5 country.

Don’t worry either about the impact the noise of the bikes will have on the game. Aquila’s animals and birds are well habituated to strange humans who don’t hunt them but just want to watch them.

Your fascinating experience will give a whole new meaning to ‘Zebra Crossing’.
