J&B Met 2012 will be ‘Made Different’

The 2012 J&B Met horse race takes place at Kenilworth Racecourse in Cape Town on January 28. The event normally attracts more than 40 000 people and is as much about the fashion and fun as anything else.

The theme this year is “Made Different” allowing fashion fundis the opportunity to apply a fair amount of interpretation when it comes to outfits. There are various fashion prizes awarded during the afternoon. The accompanying photo of ‘Elvis’ and ‘Michael Jackson’ was taken at last year’s event.

There will be 10 races held between noon and 6.30pm, with the main race (the 2km J&B Met) starting at 4.30pm. The L’ Ormarins Queens Plate was held at Kenilworth on Saturday, January 7, and won by an outside favourite by the name Gimmiethegreenlight.

Tickets cost R175 and are currently available online at www.webtickets.co.za There will be an after party for those who want to continue the festivities. Tickets are also R175 and available from the same website.
