Go Kayaking with Dolphins

Dolphin-watching seems to be everyone’s favourite.

What is it about these fascinating creatures that appeals to us so much? Is it their obvious intelligence? The way they squeak and speak to us? Their grace and beauty, or their irrepressible sense of fun?

You can see dolphins all around South Africa’s coast, but one of the best ways is to get right up close to them is in a kayak.

Never kayaked or paddled before? My only experience was in a very calm Halong Bay in Vietnam.

But I needn’t have worried. At www.dolphinadventures.co.za in Plettenberg Bay, you’ll be assigned a specially-designed stable kayak. If you’re kayak-savvy, then you get a brightly coloured surf ski - a specific kind of kayak designed for ocean paddling. You’ll see dolphins all year round, whilst seals are also a fixture.

And there’s an added bonus. If you’re here during whale season (July to October) you’ll almost certain to see whales as well.

So what’s stopping you?
