Finding luxurious experiences in South Africa is not hard – among other things, we have some world-class golfing courses and fantastic accommodation options.

Fancourt, in George along the scenic Garden Route, is one such place. It is located near the George Airport at the foot of the majestic Outeniqua Mountains. The facilities at Fancourt include three 18-hole golf courses, namely The Links, Montagu (pictured above) and Outeniqua (pictured below); two accommodation options; and fantastic leisure opportunities. Fancourt also offers conference facilities and wedding packages. There are wonderful attractions in the surrounding areas too.

The golf courses at Fancourt have hosted a range of prestigious events, including the 2003 Presidents Cup, the 2005 South African Open, and the Gary Player Invitational for the years 2008 to 2010. All three courses at Fancourt were designed by South African golfing great Gary Player.

The Links (pictured below) is arguably the most popular of the three courses. The ground on which The Links was developed was once an airfield. Player and his team of designers are said to have spent months studying courses in Ireland and Scotland to turn the former airfield into one of South Africa's best leisure experiences. Fancourt also offers a world-class golf academy and two golf shops.

Accommodation at Fancourt is available in two places: The Fancourt Hotel and the Manor House. The Fancourt Hotel has all the luxuries of modern accommodation, including complimentary wireless internet, air conditioning, international plugs, and two safes.

The Manor House is, in fact, the original manor house that was erected on the former farmland that is now Fancourt. The house has been modernised and turned into a boutique hotel. It still has the charm of the old farm manor house but with a few modern twists. Included in your Manor House room rate is complimentary wireless internet, evening canapés served with a glass of sparkling wine, afternoon tea, and daily local and international newspapers.

Fancourt's sporting facilities are not restricted to golf. The are tennis courts, a gym, swimming pools, and kids' and teens' clubs that offer a range of activities. There is also a selection of spa treatments to choose from to help you unwind after a day spent enjoying the resort's sporting facilities. In the spa, you will also find a physiotherapist and a hair salon that stocks international brands.

Another attraction of Fancourt is its proximity to the beautiful Garden Route, along which you can enjoy a range of activities such as sightseeing; adventure tourism activities including bungee jumping and quad biking; wildlife experiences in nature reserves (including Big Five sightings); hiking trails; and wine tours. You can also enjoy trip to one of the beautiful beaches in the area.
